Man Arrested for Freeway Shootings in California

California Highway Patrol (CHP) detectives arrested 47-year-old Damien Lamont Harris in connection with two freeway shootings that occurred on August 3 along I-680 and I-880. The first shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. near Stoneridge Drive in Pleasanton, where a victim was shot in the shoulder. The second occurred 45 minutes later on the Industrial Parkway on-ramp to I-880 in Hayward, where the victim was uninjured. Detectives linked Harris to the incidents using vehicle descriptions and freeway camera footage. In searches of his associated residences, multiple firearms, ammunition, and suspected narcotics were found. Harris faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a firearm, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
