Gemini Launches ETH, SOL Staking Services in UK

Gemini, the crypto exchange founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, has launched Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking services for customers in the United Kingdom, allowing users to earn passive income with no minimum staking amount required. The staking service offers up to 6% annual percentage rate (APR) on SOL and a variable rate on ETH, with rewards accruing daily and visible within the Gemini app or website. This new offering removes previous barriers such as the 32 ETH minimum requirement for staking, making it accessible to both retail and institutional investors, while maintaining institutional-grade security and custodial management. Gemini charges fees on rewards, which can reach up to 25%, and the staking services are not covered by the UK's Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The launch coincides with Gemini opening its first permanent office in London and obtaining a Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) license from the Malta Financial Services Authority, signaling its intent to expand further in Europe. This move strengthens Gemini's position in the competitive staking market by providing a user-friendly, secure platform for crypto asset holders in the UK.
