A building collapse in Lucknow's Transport Nagar area on Saturday evening has resulted in the deaths of five individuals, with 28 others successfully rescued. The three-storey structure, which housed a motor workshop, medical godown, and cutlery warehouse, was under construction when it fell around 5 PM. The deceased have been identified as Pankaj Tiwari (40), Dheeraj Gupta (48), and Arun Sonkar (28), while the identities of two others remain unknown. Rescue operations are ongoing, involving teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), with drones being utilized to expedite the process. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is closely monitoring the situation and has directed officials to enhance relief efforts and ensure proper treatment for the injured. Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed condolences and is staying updated on the rescue operations.
