Tipperary, Cork Dominate 2025 Hurling All-Star Nominations with 24 Players
The 2025 PwC GAA/GPA Hurling All-Star nominations prominently feature 45 players, with All-Ireland champions Tipperary leading with 13 nominees and runners-up Cork close behind with 11. Tipperary's nominees include all six defenders and five forwards from their All-Ireland final-winning team, except for under-20 Sam O'Farrell and midfielder Conor Stakelum, while Cork's list excludes a few key players such as the Downey brothers. The Hurler of the Year nominations feature Tipperary's John McGrath and Jake Morris alongside Cork's Brian Hayes, with McGrath noted for his vital goal-scoring in Tipperary's championship success. For the Young Hurler of the Year, Tipperary's Robert Doyle and Darragh McCarthy compete with Limerick's Adam English. Other counties represented include Kilkenny, Limerick, Dublin, Waterford, Galway, and Wexford, with Clare, Offaly, and Antrim notably absent. The awards will be announced at a gala event in Dublin on November 7, with the All-Star team revealed the day before.
