Hong Kong Welcomes One Millionth Filipino Visitor

Hong Kong has welcomed over one million visitors from the Philippines in 2024, marking a record-breaking achievement that surpasses the 930,000 arrivals in 2018. The milestone was celebrated with Filipino visitor Miguel Linao and his family, who were recognized as the millionth arrivals. From January to October 2024, Filipino tourists accounted for 920,000 of the 2.3 million Southeast Asian visitors, reflecting a 127% recovery compared to pre-pandemic levels. The influx of tourists highlights Southeast Asia's robust recovery, with the region becoming the fastest-growing market for Hong Kong tourism. The Hong Kong Tourism Board aims for a total of 46 million visitors by the end of 2024, bolstered by the growing popularity of the city among Filipino travelers. Hong Kong's tourism sector is experiencing a resurgence, with significant increases in visitor numbers across the board.
