Fatal Motorcycle Crashes Reported Nationwide

Several fatal motorcycle and moped crashes occurred recently across the United States. In Madison Township, Ohio, 33-year-old James Thigpen died after crashing his motorcycle into a tree, with the cause still under investigation. In Cincinnati, 19-year-old Joseph Rodriguez died after hitting a utility pole on an off-road motorcycle without a helmet, though police said speed and impairment were not factors. Near Spring Grove, Illinois, a 27-year-old man was killed in a collision with a turning Honda Civic, where speed was believed to have contributed. In Austin, Texas, 55-year-old Joseph E. Carrington was pronounced dead at the scene of a motorcycle crash that remains under investigation. In Orlando, Florida, a 49-year-old man died after being rear-ended on a moped by an SUV that failed to slow for traffic; the SUV driver was unharmed and stayed at the scene.
