TNT Sports Secures Ashes, Australia Cricket Rights 2025-26
TNT Sports has secured a one-year deal with Cricket Australia to exclusively broadcast the 2025-26 Ashes series in Australia, along with every international men’s and women’s cricket fixture played there from August 2025 to March 2026. This deal marks TNT's third consecutive Ashes series broadcast in Australia, continuing its role as the home for England's winter cricket tours, including white-ball series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The Ashes series, commencing in Perth on November 21 and concluding with the New Year's Test in Sydney, will feature captains Pat Cummins for Australia and Ben Stokes for England, with TNT planning a hybrid coverage approach combining UK studio presenters and on-ground experts in Australia. England aims to regain the Ashes after holding the urn since 2018, though they have not won a Test series in Australia since 2010-11, facing heavy defeats in recent tours. TNT's extended partnership with Cricket Australia also reflects the broadcaster's growing dominance in winter cricket coverage, filling the gap left by Sky Sports’ reduced focus on cricket due to cost-cutting and prioritization of Premier League football. Cricket Australia’s CEO Todd Greenberg expressed satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing the comprehensive coverage TNT will provide to UK audiences.
