Borussia Dortmund Nears £60M Jamie Gittens Transfer to Chelsea

Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea have reached an agreement for the transfer of 20-year-old English winger Jamie Gittens, with contract details still being finalized. The deal, reportedly worth around €60-65 million (£55.9 million), is set to see Gittens sign a seven-year contract at Chelsea, marking his return to English football after joining Dortmund from Manchester City in 2020. Dortmund's sporting director Sebastian Kehl described the negotiations as challenging but expressed satisfaction with meeting the club's financial ambitions and planning security. Gittens had a strong previous season with 12 goals and 3 assists in 48 appearances, and is noted for his dribbling skills in the Bundesliga. Chelsea, looking to strengthen their left wing following Jadon Sancho's departure, recently also signed Brazilian striker João Pedro. Dortmund's managing director Lars Ricken and Kehl praised Gittens for his development and contributions, wishing him success in his next career step.
