A24 Acquires U.S. Rights to The Brutalist
A24 has secured U.S. distribution rights for Brady Corbet's film 'The Brutalist', which won the Silver Lion award at the Venice Film Festival. The film, starring Adrien Brody as Hungarian-born Jewish architect László Tóth, chronicles his challenging journey from poverty to success in America post-1947. Following its acclaimed debut in Venice, where it received a 12-minute standing ovation, the film was also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, sparking competitive interest among buyers. Co-written by Corbet and Mona Fastvold, 'The Brutalist' features a strong cast that includes Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, and Joe Alwyn. With a runtime of 215 minutes, the movie will also be showcased at the New York Film Festival. Focus Features holds international rights outside of North America, while the deal was brokered by CAA Media Finance.
