Pomegranates Festival Planned for April 2025 in Edinburgh

The Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland has announced the fourth Pomegranates Festival, set to take place from April 25 to April 30, 2025, across various venues in Edinburgh. This year's festival, themed around masks, will celebrate not only Scottish traditional dance but also the cultural expressions of migrant communities in Scotland. Supported by Creative Scotland, the festival will feature a diverse range of activities including exhibitions, ceilidhs, workshops, and discussions exploring the relationship between dance, music, and other art forms. The opening day will showcase short films related to traditional dance, followed by a Q&A with notable filmmakers. This event aims to highlight the significance and artistry of masks in traditional dance, reflecting on their historical and contemporary relevance.
