West Jordan Arson Fire Kills Four, Investigation Ongoing

A house fire in West Jordan, Utah, broke out on a Friday morning and killed four family members: an adult man, an adult woman, a boy, and a girl. Authorities believe the fire was intentionally set by one of the deceased, and police are investigating it as arson with no ongoing threat to the public. The girl was initially rescued from a window by a bystander and flown to a hospital in critical condition, but she later died; the other three victims were found dead at the scene. Neighbors and bystanders made significant rescue efforts, including tearing down a fence, and at least one good Samaritan was treated for smoke inhalation. The upper level of the house sustained significant damage. The Office of the Medical Examiner is working to confirm the victims’ identities while the home remains a crime scene and investigations continue.
