LDS Mission President Jason Soulier Dies at 54
President Jason Michael Soulier, the mission president for the France Lyon Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on December 28, 2024, at the age of 54. He had been feeling ill for several days prior to his death, with the official cause yet to be determined. Soulier, who began his mission presidency in June 2024, is survived by his wife Jennifer and their four adult children. In the wake of his passing, Elder James W. McConkie III and his wife will provide temporary leadership for the mission, which includes around 200 full-time missionaries. Church spokesman Sam Penrod expressed condolences, emphasizing the community's support for Soulier's family during this difficult time. The Church acknowledges his prior service in various leadership roles within the organization.
