DUI Driver Arrested After Striking Trees, Signal Box in San Rafael
A motorist was arrested in San Rafael after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing into multiple objects, including a streetlight and trees, at the intersection of Second and B streets on Tuesday night. The incident, reported around 8 p.m., resulted in significant damage and caused the traffic signal control box to be destroyed. Although the driver attempted to flee, officers apprehended him, and he was booked into Marin County Jail. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The intersection is currently operating on a four-way flashing red signal as repairs are underway, with authorities advising drivers to expect delays and use alternate routes. Repairs are expected to take more than a day to complete.
