TUI Plans Extensive New River Luzia Douro Cruises 2027

TUI River Cruises will launch its first new-build ship, the TUI Luzia, in summer 2027, marking their largest summer program yet with 35 itineraries across Europe. The 111-passenger vessel, designed for intimate travel, will sail the Douro River in Portugal, offering seven-night round-trip voyages starting in Porto and visiting scenic UNESCO World Heritage sites. Luzia features 56 cabins across four decks, including a top-level sun deck with a shallow pool, and diverse dining options such as the main restaurant Sorriso and the Portuguese-themed Vinha. The cruise program expands beyond the Douro with new ports of call, including Zaandam in the Netherlands and Aljmaš in Croatia, enhancing cultural exploration on other European river routes. Booking opens in October 2025, with flexible itineraries ranging from short to longer cruises, catering to both new and seasoned travelers. TUI emphasizes a Full Board Plus standard package with an option to upgrade to All-Inclusive, aiming to provide a flexible and immersive river cruise experience.
