Seventeen candidates have applied for the vacant District 2 Supervisor seat in Linn County following the resignation of Supervisor Ben Rogers, effective April 1. The appointed individual will serve until the 2026 general election, with an annual salary exceeding $135,000. This unprecedented number of applicants is attributed to both the salary and the appeal of avoiding a campaign. Meanwhile, in East Marlborough, Supervisor John Auger has resigned, marking the third resignation in a year, prompting the board to seek a replacement by March 31. The East Marlborough board plans to fill the vacancy in a public meeting on May 9 after conducting private interviews with potential candidates.
