Inert Nuclear Missile Found in Washington Garage

A rusting rocket discovered in a man’s garage in Washington state is in fact an inert nuclear missile. The missile was identified as a Douglas AIR-2 Genie, designed to carry a 1.5 kt W25 nuclear warhead. The find was a result of a report to the Bellevue police from the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio about a military-grade rocket. There was no warhead attached to the missile and no danger of an explosion. The missile was determined to be an artifact with no explosive hazard.
