Murder Trial Begins for Thief Accused of Killing Amazon Driver in Leeds

Claudiu-Carol Kondor, a 42-year-old Amazon delivery driver, was killed while attempting to prevent the theft of his van in Leeds on August 20 last year. Prosecutors allege that Mark Ross, the accused, deliberately swerved and drove at speeds nearing 60mph to dislodge Mr. Kondor, who was hanging onto the vehicle's open passenger door. CCTV footage presented in court showed Mr. Kondor clinging to the van as Ross crashed into two parked cars in a bid to shake him off. Ross has admitted to manslaughter but denies the murder charge. The incident occurred while Mr. Kondor was delivering parcels and was away from his vehicle when Ross stole it.
