Her husband, Steve Sheen, expressed the family's sorrow over her condition, which she first learned of in 2021, and highlighted her significant contributions to the entertainment industry, including her founding of the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts. Quirke, who has had an illustrious 50-year career with various notable roles, including in 'Broadchurch' and 'Emmerdale,' was awarded an MBE in 2022 for her services to young people and charity. Her husband emphasized her lasting impact on many lives through her work and continued legacy via the academy, which has over 250 branches across the UK. The family has requested privacy during this challenging time as they support Quirke in her journey.
