Westgate Resorts acquires VOS, expanding to over 60 destinations

Westgate Resorts has signed an agreement to acquire Vacation Ownership Sales (VOS), the exclusive management and sales partner of VI Resorts, the largest owner-controlled timeshare and vacation club in North America. The acquisition, expected to close in 2025, will significantly expand Westgate's resort destinations from 22 to over 60, including new sites in Mexico and Canada. Westgate will also assume management of VI Resorts' points-based Vacation Club, which encompasses more than 40 resorts across the U.S., Hawaii, Mexico, and Canada. CEO Jim Gissy expressed excitement about enhancing the vacation experience and integrating new Westgate destinations into the VI Club. The company plans to invest over $4 million in marketing and technology improvements to benefit VI Resorts owners. Mike Vasey, the president of VOS, will join Westgate's executive team, emphasizing the synergy between the two brands.
