Car Fire Blocks Four Eastbound Lanes on Bay Bridge

A vehicle fire on the Bay Bridge Tuesday afternoon caused significant traffic disruptions, blocking multiple eastbound lanes. The fire, which involved a Porsche SUV towing a small motor home, was reported around 1:40 p.m. and led to the closure of lanes #1 through #4, with firefighters and California Highway Patrol working to clear the scene. By approximately 2:30 p.m., some lanes had reopened, but traffic remained heavily congested during the busy afternoon commute. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The last major car fire on the bridge occurred in July of the previous year, highlighting ongoing traffic safety concerns.
