Teens Charged in Separate Shooting Incidents
A 17-year-old from Tracy, California has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses for allegedly shooting 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall during a robbery attempt in San Francisco's Union Square. The teen, who appeared in a juvenile court on Wednesday, is also facing charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and attempted second-degree robbery. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins is considering whether to transfer the case to adult court. Pearsall is recovering from the gunshot wound and is expected to return to play this season. Meanwhile, in a separate incident in New Jersey, a 16-year-old was charged with attempted murder for a shooting that injured two teens at Passaic County Technical Institute following a football game. Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns about juvenile involvement in violent crimes.
