Texas Tech Opens Season with 94-61 Win

Texas Tech Red Raiders celebrated the start of their 100th basketball season with a decisive 94-61 victory over Bethune-Cookman. Kerwin Walton led the team with 21 points, hitting seven 3-pointers, while JT Toppin contributed 19 points and eight rebounds. The Red Raiders dominated the first half, finishing with a 50-28 lead after a 17-0 run late in the half, effectively sealing the game early. Darrion Williams and Chance McMillian each added 17 points, contributing to a strong shooting performance of 57% overall and 53% from beyond the arc. Reggie Ward Jr. was the standout for the Wildcats, scoring 15 points as they struggled to keep pace with Texas Tech's offensive onslaught. The Red Raiders will continue their home stand with a game against Northwestern State on Friday.
