Injuries Hit England, India in Lord's Test
England captain Ben Stokes suffered a groin injury during the first day of the third Test against India at Lord's, requiring on-field treatment and raising fitness concerns for the remainder of the match and upcoming games. Stokes, who recently returned from hamstring surgery, remained unbeaten on 39, while Joe Root was left on 99 after Stokes declined a second run. England ended the day at 251/4. Vice-captain Ollie Pope stressed the importance of managing Stokes' workload to prevent further injury. India also faced a setback as wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant injured his left index finger and was replaced by Dhruv Jurel. Both teams are monitoring their injured players closely as the Test and series progress.
