The tumour, located near the central part of her brain, caused short-term memory difficulties, which she managed by writing things down, and deeply impacted both her and her partner Michael Douglas. McCall revealed that the experience forced her to confront her lifelong fear of dying, intensified by the early deaths of her mother, father, and sister, leading to heartfelt conversations with Douglas about caring for her children if she did not survive.
