Bowman Gray Stadium Upgrades for NASCAR 2025

Bowman Gray Stadium is undergoing significant renovations in preparation for the 2025 NASCAR Clash, marking the venue's first Cup Series event since 1971. Improvements include the installation of a new Musco lighting system designed to enhance visibility and reduce energy consumption, funded by a pandemic recovery grant from the North Carolina Motorsports Relief Fund. Additionally, SAFER barriers and new catch fences are being installed to meet safety standards for heavier Cup Series cars. NASCAR Executive Vice President Ben Kennedy emphasized the importance of these updates for showcasing both national and grassroots racing. City officials, including Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines, expressed excitement over the partnership with NASCAR and Musco to enhance the stadium experience. The renovations are expected to be completed by early January ahead of the Clash event in February.
