Adrian Peterson Arrested on Two DWIs, Weapon Charge

Former NFL MVP Adrian Peterson was arrested Sunday morning in Sugar Land, Texas, and booked on two counts of driving while intoxicated and a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon, according to Fort Bend County jail records and media reports. Authorities took him into custody between about 9:23 and 10:00 a.m.; a sheriff’s office spokesperson said he spent the night in jail and would meet a judge to seek bail. Officials say few details have been released because the investigation is active. This is Peterson’s second DWI arrest in 2025 after an April stop in Minnesota when he was clocked at 83 mph and recorded a .14 blood-alcohol level. The 40-year-old, a 15-season running back and 2012 NFL MVP with nearly 15,000 career rushing yards, has not been convicted in the Sugar Land matter and further legal proceedings are pending.
