Tottenham Forward Alejo Veliz Returns to Rosario Central on Loan

Tottenham forward Alejo Veliz has returned to his former club Rosario Central on a season-long loan for the 2025/26 campaign, with no option or obligation to make the move permanent. Veliz, 21, originally joined Tottenham in 2023 for around £13 million but struggled to secure a regular spot, making only eight appearances and scoring once before loan spells at Sevilla and Espanyol in La Liga. Rosario Central, which recently welcomed Ángel Di María back, views Veliz as a valuable attacker with prior success at the club, where he scored 19 goals in 63 matches. Tottenham’s new head coach Thomas Frank reportedly does not have Veliz in his plans, contributing to the decision to loan him out again. Despite the loan being described as a “dry” deal, Veliz still has four years remaining on his Tottenham contract, suggesting the club retains hope for his development.
