Tennessee State Tops Howard 27-14

Tennessee State defeated Howard 27-14 during Howard's 100th homecoming celebration at Greene Stadium, improving their season record to 6-2 while Howard fell to 3-4. Quarterback Draylen Ellis led Tennessee State's offense with 289 passing yards and a rushing touchdown, while Karate Brenson made significant contributions with five catches for 153 yards. The Tigers' defense was dominant, limiting Howard to just 33 passing yards and forcing two turnovers, which were converted into points. CJ Evans capped off the victory with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Despite Jarett Hunter's 102 rushing yards for Howard, the Bison struggled to keep pace with Tennessee State's offensive and defensive performance. The win enhances Tennessee State's reputation in HBCU football as they prepare for their next game against UT Martin on November 2.
