Michigan, Michigan State Land Top-100 2026 Recruits
Michigan picked up four-star 2026 shooting guard Joseph Hartman, a 6-foot-5, top-100 prospect (ranked about No. 77–94) and the son of Florida assistant coach Carlin Hartman. Hartman arrives off a strong grassroots season with Austin Rivers Southeast Elite and an adidas 3SSB showing (roughly 14–16.5 PPG) while shooting about 48% FG, 44% 3PT and 79% FT; Michigan’s staff sold him on a development plan, a high-possession, three-point-oriented playing style and the chance to earn minutes as a freshman. He is Michigan’s fourth commitment, joining Quinn Costello, Malachi Brown and 7-foot-3 Marcus Moller, a haul that helps vault the Wolverines into a top-ranked 2026 class. Michigan State also secured a commitment from Julius Avent, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound four-star power forward who chose the Spartans over offers including Xavier and Seton Hall and praised Tom Izzo’s tradition, culture and player development.
