McDonald's Japan Unveils Exclusive Pokémon TCG Promotion

McDonald's Japan will run a limited-time Pokémon Happy Meal promotion from August 9 to 11, 2025, offering an exclusive Pikachu promo card with unique burger-themed artwork and a random card from five reprints (Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, Ralts, or Riolu), each stamped with the McDonald's logo. Pokémon-themed toys will also be included in the promotion. This is the first time in a decade that Pokémon TCG promo cards are available with Happy Meals in Japan, and the Pikachu card is expected to be highly sought after due to its exclusivity. The campaign coincides with the release of new Mega TCG sets in Japan and comes ahead of related international TCG launches. McDonald's has not announced any similar promotion outside Japan, and fans abroad will likely have to rely on resellers to obtain the exclusive Pikachu card. The limited availability may attract collectors and scalpers, increasing demand for the cards.
