In a rare occurrence, two second-prize Mega Millions tickets—one worth $2 million and the other $4 million—were sold at the same shop, Manya Card and Gifts, in Seaford, New York, for Tuesday's drawing. Lottery officials noted it is possible for players to purchase the same numbers more than once or with different bonus balls, leading to multiple second-tier wins from one location. No ticket won the $96 million jackpot for that drawing. Also, in New Jersey, two third-prize Mega Millions tickets worth $20,000 each were sold, and a $990,123 Jersey Cash 5 ticket was purchased in Somerset County. The odds for winning large Mega Millions prizes slightly improved after a recent change reducing the Mega Ball matrix by one number. Friday's Mega Millions jackpot is now estimated at $112 million.
