Shrimp Boat Miss Montie Washes Ashore in Florida
A 50-foot shrimp boat named 'Miss Montie' washed ashore in Flagler Beach, Florida, on Sunday evening, attracting onlookers. The Flagler Beach Fire Department responded to the scene around 6:05 p.m. at 2480 N. Oceanshore Blvd and conducted a search of the vessel, finding no crew on board. Subsequent communication with the U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that the crew had been safely removed prior to the grounding. Local law enforcement and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are investigating the incident. The Coast Guard's Brendan Blackwell noted that the boat contained a few hundred gallons of diesel but was structurally sound and not in immediate danger of capsizing. The boat's owner is making arrangements for its removal from the beach.
