Keshav Maharaj Out of ODI Series Against Pakistan
South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has been ruled out of the remaining ODIs against Pakistan due to a left adductor strain suffered during warm-ups for the first ODI. His absence is significant as he recently played a key role in a Test victory against Sri Lanka, taking five wickets. Bjorn Fortuin has been named as his replacement for the final two ODIs. Maharaj will return to Durban for rehabilitation and will be reassessed ahead of the Test series against Pakistan starting December 26. This injury adds to South Africa's list of unavailable bowlers, including Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi, as they strive for a spot in the World Test Championship final. With Maharaj's capabilities missed, South Africa may consider other spin options for the upcoming Test series.
