Neeraj Chopra Second in Diamond League Final

Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra narrowly missed winning the Diamond League Final 2024, finishing second with a throw of 87.86 meters, just one centimeter short of Grenada's Anderson Peters who won with 87.87 meters. This marks Chopra's second consecutive year as runner-up in the Diamond League, following his 2022 victory. Despite a challenging season plagued by a groin injury, Chopra managed consistent performances, including a season-best throw of 89.49 meters in Lausanne. Peters, a two-time world champion, secured his first Diamond League title and was awarded $30,000, while Chopra received $12,000 for his second-place finish. Julian Weber of Germany finished third with a throw of 85.97 meters.
