Discord Banned in Turkey and Russia

Both Turkey and Russia have recently banned the popular messaging platform Discord, citing concerns over unlawful content and safety. Turkey's ban came following allegations of child sexual abuse and obscenity, as well as public outrage over the platform being used to praise a double murder. The Turkish Justice Minister emphasized the government's commitment to protecting youth from harmful online content. Similarly, Russia's Roskomnadzor blocked Discord due to its failure to remove content deemed illegal, including material related to terrorism and drug sales. This move is part of Russia's broader strategy to restrict foreign tech platforms that violate their laws.
