Kadare, often considered for the Nobel Literature Prize, gained fame for works like 'The General of the Dead Army,' portraying life under Albania's communist regime. Despite accusations of enjoying privilege under dictator Enver Hoxha, Kadare fled to France in 1990, returning later and receiving honors, with over 80 works translated into 45 languages.
