Mary J. Blige Produces New Lifetime Movie

Mary J. Blige has signed a multi-picture deal with Lifetime, kicking off with the film 'Family Affair', inspired by her 2001 song of the same name, set to debut in 2025. The movie continues the love story of Kendra and Ben, portrayed by Ajiona Alexus and Da’Vinchi, who reprise their roles from previous Lifetime films 'Real Love' and 'Strength of a Woman'. As Kendra and Ben attempt to build a life together, they face challenges such as fertility issues and family tensions, leading to a critical turning point in their relationship. Production is scheduled to begin this month, with Blige serving as an executive producer through her Blue Butterfly banner, alongside Jordan and John Davis of Davis Entertainment. The film will be part of Lifetime's Voices of a Lifetime slate, further showcasing Blige's influence in the network following her past successes. In addition to her film work, Blige is preparing for a music album release and an upcoming tour.
