Morne Morkel Appointed India's Bowling Coach

Morne Morkel, the newly appointed bowling coach of the Indian cricket team, expressed his excitement about joining the squad as they prepare for a Test series against Bangladesh. He shared his fondness for Indian cuisine, particularly dosas and murgh malai chicken, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy diet as a coach to set a positive example for players. Reflecting on his appointment, Morkel noted that he first spoke to his father after receiving the offer from the BCCI, finding the moment particularly special given his long-standing admiration for cricket. He replaces Paras Mhambrey in the coaching role and has previously worked with current head coach Gautam Gambhir at the Lucknow Super Giants. Morkel has a notable coaching background, including a recent stint with Pakistan's bowling team, which he left six weeks before his contract ended. The Indian team will face Bangladesh in their first Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai soon.
