Packers Sign T.J. Luther and Johnny Lumpkin

The Green Bay Packers have signed wide receiver T.J. Luther and tight end Johnny Lumpkin to their practice squad, while releasing running back La'Mical Perine and wide receiver Jalen Wayne. Luther, an undrafted free agent from Gardner-Webb, previously spent time with the New York Jets, Patriots, and Steelers, showcasing significant potential in college with over 1,000 receiving yards in his final season. Lumpkin, standing 6-foot-6, was also undrafted and has had brief stints with the Patriots, Colts, and Broncos, providing depth at tight end after the release of Messiah Swinson. The Packers' roster adjustments come as they prepare for their home opener against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2. Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks have re-signed wide receiver Ty Scott to bolster their practice squad and released linebacker Michael Barrett, who had recently been acquired from the Panthers. Scott previously played for the UFL's DC Defenders, while Barrett, a seventh-round draft pick, struggled to make an impact during preseason.
