Odessa Police Officer, Family Killed in Central Texas Floods

Odessa Police Officer Bailey Martin was confirmed among the victims of the devastating flooding in Texas' Hill Country that occurred around July 4. Martin, who was traveling with family members and his girlfriend Jayda Floyd, was found deceased in Kerr County, with several of his family members also perishing in the disaster. The Odessa Police Department has honored Martin by wearing mourning bands, lowering flags to half-staff, and encouraging residents to replace porch lights with blue bulbs in his memory. Honor Guard members and officers close to Martin are standing watch over his casket at a facility in Travis County and will escort his body back to Odessa.
