Futures League Expands to Seventh Team in Lowell Massachusetts

Lowell, Massachusetts, will welcome a new Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL) team to play at UMass Lowell's Edward A. LeLacheur Park starting with the 2026 season. This addition marks the seventh team in the league, which offers college players a platform to develop their skills and catch the attention of Major League Baseball scouts while maintaining their amateur status. The new team will help revive summer baseball in Lowell following the loss of the Lowell Spinners' minor league status in 2021 and aims to build strong community support, with local leaders emphasizing family-friendly, affordable entertainment.
