Lola Young, U2 Lead 2025 Ivor Novello Nods

Lola Young leads the 2025 Ivor Novello Awards nominations with three, including Best Album for 'This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway,' Best Song Musically and Lyrically for 'Messy,' and the Rising Star award. Other artists such as RAYE, Ghetts, and Conor Dickinson also received multiple nominations, while the Best Album category includes Charli XCX, BERWYN, Ghetts, and Jordan Rakei. The awards mark their 70th anniversary, recognizing 74 composers and songwriters, with two-thirds being first-time nominees. Wham!’s 'Last Christmas' earned a posthumous nomination for George Michael as one of PRS for Music’s Top 5 Most Performed Songs of 2024, competing against tracks by Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Myles Smith, and Casso, RAYE & D-Block Europe. U2 will be inducted into the Ivors Academy Fellowship, making them the first Irish songwriters to receive this honor. The ceremony is scheduled for May 22 at Grosvenor House in London.
