Alabama Authorities Uncover Child Sex Trafficking Ring In Underground Bunker

Authorities in Bibb County, Alabama, uncovered a horrific child sex trafficking ring operating in an underground storm shelter near a residence in Brent, involving at least six children aged 3 to 10. The investigation, initiated in February 2025 after a tip about child sexual abuse, revealed that children were drugged, tied to beds, chairs, and poles, and sold to pedophiles for sexual abuse over more than a year. Four men—William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, Andres Velazquez-Trejo, and Timothy St. John—have been arrested and charged with crimes including human trafficking, rape, sodomy, and kidnapping, with additional suspects potentially involved. Assistant District Attorney Brian Jones described the shelter as a converted basement with concrete floors and pillars, where abuse took place, and noted that some children were taught abusive behaviors to perform on each other. Sheriff Jody Wade emphasized the severity of the crimes and the ongoing nature of the investigation, pledging full prosecution of offenders.
