Columbus Crew Finalizing Al Ahly Striker Wessam Abou Ali Transfer

Columbus Crew SC is finalizing a deal to sign Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali from Egyptian club Al Ahly. The 26-year-old forward impressed at the FIFA Club World Cup, notably scoring a hat trick against FC Porto, and has shown strong form in the 2024-25 season with 10 goals in 16 appearances. The transfer fee is reported to be $7.5 million plus $1 million in add-ons, with Al Ahly retaining a 10% sell-on clause. Abou Ali has also become a regular for the Palestinian national team, scoring four goals in 10 appearances since 2024. This move addresses Columbus Crew's need for a striker following the departure of Cucho Hernandez. Meanwhile, Al Ahly is also negotiating with Al Ittihad Club over a possible transfer of Mohamed Abdulrahman, but no agreement has been reached yet as financial terms remain under discussion.
