Jonathan Rea, the six-time World Superbike champion, will miss the opening round of the 2025 World Superbike Championship at Phillip Island after suffering multiple fractures to his left foot during a crash in testing. The incident occurred at Turn 2 during the closing stages of the first test session, leading to his immediate transfer to a medical center for assessment. Yamaha Racing confirmed that he would not participate in further testing or the race weekend. This marks a setback for Rea, who had a challenging debut season with Yamaha last year after switching from Kawasaki, where he won six consecutive titles from 2015 to 2020.
