Carli Lloyd Inducted into Soccer Hall of Fame
Carli Lloyd has been inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2025, recognized for her extraordinary accomplishments with the U.S. women's national team, including two World Cup titles and two Olympic gold medals. The induction ceremony is scheduled for May 3, 2025, in Frisco, Texas. Lloyd's career spanned 16 years, during which she made 316 international appearances, ranking second all-time for the U.S. women, and scored 134 goals, placing her fifth on the international scoring list. Notably, she is the only player to score a hat trick in a FIFA Women’s World Cup final, achieving this in 2015 against Japan. Alongside Lloyd, former players Chris Armas, Mary Harvey, and Nick Rimando, as well as former MLS executive Mark Abbott, were also elected to the Hall. Lloyd's legacy extends beyond statistics; she is celebrated for her impactful performances in critical matches and her contributions to the growth of women's soccer in the U.S.
