Tacoma Car Theft Injures Girl; Separate Colorado Incident

In Tacoma, a 12-year-old girl was hit by a car during an attempted car theft incident. The suspect, who attempted to steal the car while the girl and her mother were getting out, struck the girl and fled the scene. Police pursued and arrested the suspect on charges including first-degree robbery and vehicular assault. The girl was hospitalized with minor injuries and was conscious and alert at the scene. Separately, in Colorado Springs, a child was struck by a car near the intersection of Vindicator Drive and West Rockrimmon Boulevard due to sun glare, suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver in Colorado Springs was cited, and no drugs or alcohol were involved.
