This victory follows her bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships earlier this month. Bonnin celebrated her win with silver medalist Tina Sutej from Slovenia and bronze medalist Angelica Moser from Switzerland, despite three failed attempts at 4.80 meters. She described the win as a dream come true, noting that while she expected a medal, gold was a pleasant surprise. The competition experienced delays due to a technical glitch, which affected several competitors. Meanwhile, US star Grant Holloway advanced in his quest for a third consecutive title in the men's 60m hurdles, maintaining a winning streak since 2014.
