Dodgers Parade After Back-to-Back World Series Win
The Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series 5-4 in an 11-inning Game 7 over the Toronto Blue Jays to claim back-to-back titles, the first team to do so in 25 years. A championship parade is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 3, starting at 11 a.m. PT at Broadway and Temple and running about 1.7 miles west on Temple, south on Grand, west on 7th and north on Figueroa to 5th, expected to last roughly 45 minutes with players atop double-decker buses. Players will depart Dodger Stadium for downtown in the morning and a ticketed mid-day rally at Dodger Stadium will follow; tickets go on sale Sunday (local reports cite noon). City officials warned there will not be time to attend both events, recommended using public transit, and said fans began lining up as early as 2:30 a.m.; they plan to deploy more than 125 traffic officers, with road closures and towing beginning as early as 5 a.m., and attendance could top 100,000–200,000. Weather is forecast to clear from morning low clouds and fog into afternoon sunshine with temperatures in the low to mid-70s for the parade.
