Anduril Industries Plans $1 Billion Factory in Ohio

Anduril Industries has announced the construction of its first 'hyperscale' manufacturing facility, Arsenal-1, in Columbus, Ohio, representing a $1 billion investment that is expected to create 4,000 jobs. The facility will span five million square feet on a 500-acre site near Rickenbacker International Airport, enabling efficient production and distribution of autonomous military systems. CEO Brian Schimpf highlighted that Arsenal-1 will utilize a software-defined manufacturing platform to enhance flexibility and scalability in production, aiming to produce tens of thousands of military systems annually. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine praised the project as the largest job creation initiative in the state's history, reinforcing Ohio's role as a leader in advanced manufacturing and defense technology. Construction is set to begin immediately, with manufacturing slated to start in July 2026, pending approvals.
